Yin Yoga

A slow-paced style of yoga where the postures are held for a longer period of time - anything from 2 to 5 minutes. The time frame is such as it allows the posture to apply moderate stress in our connective tissues as well as our muscles. This will greatly increase the circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. Yin Yoga is a meditative approach to yoga and helps to cultivate inner silence.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa means moving with breath. In this style the teacher will lead you to move your body through a series of postures with the help of your breath. This style will get your heart pumping as you are strengthening your body holding the postures as well as moving from one posture to the next.

Ashtanga Mysore

Ashtanga is a very different method of yoga where you will learn a specific set pattern and new postures will be revealed as you have “mastered” the previous one. This style will allow each student to work individualize with the teacher in a classroom of others as each student is working on his or her own posture. The series is set up in such a unique way that the body will prepare itself with the beginning postures for the more advanced postures or asanas.

How it Works

The benefit of yoga are several. Some of the favorite benefit of our students are increased flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, improved respiration, energy and vitality, as well as better balance in your physical and mental life. Yoga is an excellent compliment to all martial arts students as well.

Orientation

Pick the class you would like to try. Call and schedule your trial lesson. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to the class starts. You can bring your own mat but it is not necessary.

Lessons

In order for you to notice the benefit of yoga we recommend that you enjoy 1-3 classes per week. We also offer workshops throughout the year for you to deepen your practice.
